ABOUT GEORGE UIBEL

George Uibel, founder of theOPENFRAME, brings together three decades of experience in the arts and the business world to meet the artistic and technical requirements of each client and project. He holds a Fine Arts’ degree from New York’s Pratt Institute and worked for 20+ years in the global telecommunications industry, most recently at Cisco Systems.



George began his career as a scientific photographer and videographer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where he established and managed the Center’s video department. His work included videotaping and photographing pioneering surgeries and training procedures. He then moved to broadcast television doing camera work and audio on PBS specials (with artists including Sarah Brightman and Andrew Lloyd Weber), as well as programs such as Search for Tomorrow, Sesame Street  and the MTV awards.



George next moved to the corporate side of the business, relocating with his family to Silicon Valley. Over 20 years, he held positions in sales, marketing and business development at the leading makers of video equipment for graphics and special effects, including Ampex, Abekas and Pinnacle. Most recently, he worked at Cisco Systems for 11 years, in product areas including Digital Signage and Streaming Media solutions for education and corporate communications.
